Apogee Laser Land Leveller: Zero Model

The Zero Model is Apogee's most affordable and beginner friendly Laser Land Leveller. It uses a rotating laser transmitter operating at 600 RPM with an accuracy of ±0.075 mm/m and covers a range of up to 600 metres. This model is designed for flat land levelling and works with any tractor of 45 HP or above.

It is the best choice for small to medium farmers with 5 to 20 acres of flat land. First time buyers, cotton farmers, groundnut farmers, and those on a tight budget will find this model ideal. It is easy to operate and a single person can learn to use it within 30 minutes.

Farmers using the Zero Model report 20 to 30 percent water savings and 15 to 25 percent yield improvement. The main limitation is the 600 metre range, which may require repositioning the transmitter on very large fields. It also does not support slope control. Apogee Laser Land Leveller: ZL-2

The ZL-2 is Apogee's mid range model built for medium to large farms of 20 to 50 acres. It offers a significant upgrade over the Zero Model with an extended 800 metre operating range and ±5° auto self leveling on the transmitter. As a result, you can set it up more quickly, with fewer mistakes, and cover a greater area without having to reposition the transmitter.

The ZL-2 provides improved sensitivity from the receiver and improved hydraulic controls for a smoother blade operation. It is designed for the progressive farmer that farms several fields, is doing contract work to level land for someone else, or grows crops like cotton, tobacco, rice, wheat, and sugarcane.

Even though the ZL-2 is a little more expensive than the Zero Model, it has the ability to work over a bigger area, and has the capability of automatically leveling out, which will save you a lot of time and labour if you are operating on a large scale. Like the Zero Model, it is designed for flat land only and does not include slope control.

Apogee Laser Land Leveller: DS-1

The DS-1 is the most advanced Laser Land Leveller in the Apogee range. It is the only model featuring dual axis slope control and Laser plus GNSS integration. With ±8° auto self leveling and sub millimetre accuracy, the DS-1 handles sloped terrain, hilly land, and directional drainage with ease.

This model is built for farmers who need water to flow in a specific direction, practice contour farming or terracing, or work on uneven and challenging terrain. Farmers who depend on good drainage, especially those growing sugarcane, rice (paddy) and tobacco will find this model very worthwhile.

The DS-1 prevents water stagnation, improves soil aeration, enhances root development, and reduces soil borne diseases. While it carries a premium price, the technology justifies the investment for farmers dealing with slopes and drainage requirements. Not sure which model fits your needs? Price and Subsidy Information

The Zero Model is the most affordable option, followed by the ZL-2 at mid range pricing, and the DS-1 as the premium model. All three models are eligible for government subsidies. Gujarat farmers can receive 40 to 50 percent subsidy through the iKhedut Portal. Similar schemes are available in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. For more information on subsidy amounts, eligibility criteria, and application procedures, refer to our Laser Land Leveller Subsidy Guide. Apogee Precision specialises in all aspects of applying and receiving subsidies for agricultural producers, from application through to funding received.

Regardless of the model, farmers typically recover their investment within 2 to 3 seasons through water savings, fuel reduction, labour savings, and higher crop yields. Many farmers also earn additional income by offering contract levelling services to neighbouring farms at rates of Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000 per acre.

Which Model Should You Buy?

Choose the Zero Model if your farm is 5 to 20 acres on flat land, you are buying for the first time, and budget is your main priority.

Choose the ZL-2 if your farm is 20 to 50 acres on flat land, you want auto self leveling for faster setup, or you plan to do contract levelling.

Choose the DS-1 if your land is sloped, hilly, or uneven, you need directional drainage, or you require the highest accuracy with GNSS technology.

You can also start with the Zero Model and upgrade to the ZL-2 or DS-1 later as your needs grow. Apogee supports upgrades at any time through its dealer network.
